Flying Into Denver international airport

The nearest major airport to Denver is the Denver International Airport (DIA). You can find deals at respective discount airfare sites or directly from your preferred airline. We suggest checking fares often and signing up for low fare alert services. Research shows that the ideal time to buy your airline tickets is generally about 54 days before travel. After 54 days, prices begin to rise and then shoot up 30 days before the flight. Remember to check out package discounts for hotels and car rentals, if you wish. Here are some sites you can use to find deals and set up price alerts:

Teams

CVHS Dance Club Performance Team

The College View High School Dance Club is in their 5th year and running strong. This year, with the support of CMDance, there is a lot in store with them, including working with Selena Garcia of Bachata Denver and the Collabratory Complex to learn a Latin-hip hop fusion choreography that they will be on tour around Colorado this spring to perform! They can't wait to show you what they've got at the 2024 Swing Battle!

The Denver Diamond Dolls

The Diamond Dolls are an adult dance group that aims to provide an inclusive and encouraging learning environment open to all feminine energy focused individuals including cis and transgender women, and members of the gender non-binary/non-conforming community. Our dancers are all ages, race identities, backgrounds, lifestyles, body shapes, and skill levels. If you align with our mission and your heart tells you to dance, then welcome to our party!

Catch us performing our latest routine, Swings Like Teen Spirit! Choreographed by Allison Frey and Elisabetta Perotti, it is danced to a swing jazz cover of a Nirvana classic by The Schwings Band with a mix of Charleston and solo jazz movements.

School of Mines Sliderulers
Silver team

The Sliderulers Silver Team is the competition branch of the Lindy Hop section of the Colorado School of Mines Ballroom Dance Club. Positions on the team are audition-only and elected student leaders make and teach a choreography to the team. We’re excited to compete at ICSB this year!

School of Mines Sliderulers
blue team

The CSM Blue team is a performing group from Colorado School of Mines that seeks to put on a fun show. We seek to include any and all dancers that would like to learn choreography and perform to an audience, regardless of experience.

Driving Into Denver

The best way to Denver by car is using either I-70 to approach from the East or West or I-25 to approach from the North or South.

To get to Englewood/Littleton and the Omni Ballroom (best routes will vary depending on time of day):

Getting Around Denver

Rideshare programs like Uber or Lyft are highly active in Denver. We also have Car2GO, a convenient smart-car rental service providing over 400 2-person cars spread throughout Denver; just take it, drive it, and park it, within the designated city area (membership required).

Getting to Downtown Denver from DIA

The A Line will get you from the DIA airport to Union Station (1.5 miles from the Studio Loft/Curtis Hotel) for only $10.50 in approx 40 minutes. This is by far the most affordable and efficient way to get downtown from the airport. The last train to leave DIA departs at 1:26 am. Trains departing Union Station starting as early as 3:15 am.

The A Line connects to the C/D lines at Union Station for easy connections to the Englewood/Littleton area

Volunteers

Teamwork makes the dream work!

image.jpg

Volunteers are the face of the event, as each of you are often the first human anyone interacts with and comes to with emergencies. We value our volunteers and seriously cannot function without you. Help us make this a successful event, and get to know your organizers and artists a little better. You will be able to sign-up after reading the following!

Volunteers can assist with this event to help offset the purchase price of your individual pass. Each hour you assist is equivalent to $10 off of your purchase price. Time slots are limited so this option is first come first serve.* Please fill out the following if you would like to volunteer: Volunteer Registration
(*If the price of attending is financially challenging please let us know, we will prioritize your registration for volunteer hours.)

Important Notes Related to Volunteering:

  • PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER/BUY A PASS, IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO VOLUNTEER IN EXCHANGE FOR A PASS! If you just want to help out because we are a community, that’s cool too.

  • As you have not pre-registered, you must provide a check as a deposit for the full amount at the beginning of the weekend. This deposit is in good faith that you will show up for all your shifts, and communicate with all the appropriate personnel if you swap a shift.

  • The check will be destroyed when all your commitments are fulfilled, or if you do not show up for your shifts then you choose to have CMDance cash your check in exchange for your pass. You may write a new check or paypal CMDance the difference in the case you miss/are late.

  • In the case that you do not have checks because you think they are outdated, then we may be able to set-up a case by case alternative to the check from of a deposit.

  • Volunteers will have the choice to work part-time for a dance pass (or half off their all-access pass), or you can volunteer full-time for their pass.

  • CMDance will not refund any dollar amount above what you paid for your event pass, in the instance you have already purchased your pass.

  • Volunteers will be offered to pick their shifts in the first stages of volunteer sign-up, but it will be locked for editing as we get closer to the event.

  • Volunteers who are no shows for shifts will not be allowed to volunteer for CM Dance events in the future. (This would suck, please don’t make us use this)

  • We will accept your volunteer support and helping hands at any time, even when you are not scheduled, of course!

  • Volunteers are really cool and make this event amazing! Thank you.

If you have any questions about volunteering for this event, please e-mail our Volunteer Coordinator, Benjamin Collins: COLLINS.BENJAMINJ@GMAIL.COM
