Educational Programs

We reach over 10,000 students every year in schools throughout the Front Range, with an emphasis in the 7 counties of the Greater Denver area. Our programs use partner dancing to grant youth the tools to express themselves, communicate with others, problem-solve through improvisational thinking, take artistic risks, and engage in interdisciplinary learning experiences with historical and cultural studies.

Early Childhood Education

Through a partnership with the Denver Mayor’s Office of Children’s Affairs established in 2010, CMDance has introduced dance education to the Denver Great Kids Head Start Program, as well as other ECE programs in Denver. We prepare children for kindergarten to enter with confidence for continued school success.

Intercollegiate Dance Programming

Our intercollegiate program brings college students from western United States together each spring in Denver. For many of these students, it is their first time dancing. While others may only have been dancing since the start of the school year. The intercollegiate program provides an opportunity to share their creativity and passion for the arts. At this event, they learn from world class instructors, develop a deeper understanding of the complex African-American culture and history of these dances and on Saturday evening compete for the title of Swing Team Champions!
