You are here:

Beginner

No experience necessary, no partner necessary. Instruction in lindy hop will go from the ground up and you will be amazed how far you will get in only 3 days! If you have experience in other types of social dancing like 6-count/East Coast swing or West Coast Swing this is still the track for you. There is a lot offered in this track, including electives like Tap and Jazz.

Intermediate

You have been taking Lindy Hop specific classes for 6 months or so. You are solid in all the 6-count and 8-count basics: the swingout, passes, turns, texas tommy, basic tandem or side-by-side charleston, etc. and are ready to take your dancing to the next level.

There is a lot offered in this track, including electives like Tap and Jazz.

Advanced

You have been dancing lindy hop at a minimum of two years and can dance to a wide variety of tempos. You are ready for more technical aspects like musicality, connection, phrasing, styling, footwork and learn at a fast pace.

***LEVEL TRYOUT REQUIRED***

Advanced Plus

You are at the top of group, performing, teaching, have rock solid technique, and learn new material quickly.

***LEVEL TRYOUT REQUIRED***

IMPORTANT

Level audtitions will be held Friday night (with a second audition for late arrivals on Saturday morning, if needed). Auditioning does NOT guarantee that you will be placed in an advanced track; based on the audition, you may be placed in intermediate, advanced, or adv+ at the discretion of our expert instructors. A final arbiter will be selected from our instructor lineup to resolve any appeals.

To maintain the integrity of the Dance Tracks available for the weekend, it is important that you stay in the track best associated with your needs and dance level. If you find that you are struggling, please respect that you may be hindering the learning of other dancers by staying in the track you're in. The quality of instructors of the weekend is great, and we trust that you will refine and improve your dancing by stepping down if need be!

On the same note, the instructors will notice if you belong in a more advanced track, and you will be bumped up.

Also, please honor the breaks assigned to each track so that we may all learn at the pace best suited for us.
